Artist’s statement/inspiration:
Wild fires burning because of colonial suppression of Indigenous knowledge. Environmental and social crises.
Destruction, War, Food insecurity, terror, genocide, corporate greed, racism, sexism, homophobia, military industrial complex, homelessness, avarice, cancer, corruption, torture, violence, obesity, intolerance, narcissism, mental illness, mistrust, misinformation, impatience,traffic, lies, exploitation of people and natural resources, human rights violations, propaganda and unaccountable governments are just some of the problems inspiring this piece.
Ironically tobacco is a sacred medicine, however used in a capitalist system for capital gain creates the catalyst for the nervous stress, impatience and health issues that sees these problems manifest, and capitalism thrive while perpetuating these problems. Mind control in many subjects with the neurological disorders (addiction) created is part of the drug’s designed purpose.
Creates micro plastics & air quality pollution.
